World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Weapons

However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few of your friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.

Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as old one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they will not replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player and they want to upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket until it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying a new one.
